Vision of Harveston
Harveston works alongside churches and supports them according to the principles and teachings of the Holy Bible, serving so that the Gospel may be proclaimed and faith may grow. By partnering with churches in their mission and ministry, Harveston seeks to strengthen and nurture the Kingdom of God through practical support and the provision of helpful resources that equip believers for spiritual growth and faithful service.
Relying on the presence and guidance of the Holy Spirit, Harveston is committed to walking with God’s people as they are shaped, equipped, and strengthened in their faith, growing into mature and devoted followers of Christ. Through this ongoing partnership and service, Harveston desires to see lives transformed, churches built up in love, unity, and spiritual maturity, and the Kingdom of God flourish more fully and abundantly among His people.
Harveston serves alongside churches by supporting missionaries and mission fields that are working to bring the transforming grace of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, leading people into new birth and new life in Him. We seek to pray for, encourage, and serve those who are pioneering God’s work in unreached and developing mission fields.
To enhance the effectiveness of ministry in the field, Harveston coordinates the involvement of professionals from various backgrounds who serve as mission volunteers or team members in both short-term and long-term assignments within specialized areas of ministry. We also work closely with local missionaries and their teams to design and implement projects that benefit the communities they serve.
Harveston exists to reveal God’s grace and expand His Kingdom through transformed lives that bear fruit in every area of society. We seek to pray, serve, and work in unity so that His Kingdom is established not only within the church, but also in families, communities, workplaces, and across the world.
In Christ, people from diverse backgrounds are brought together as one body to grow in faith, live out their callings, and collaborate in Kingdom work. Harveston supports this by connecting people across fields, fostering partnership, and engaging in projects that bring both spiritual and practical benefit to local communities.
Through prayer, collaboration, and global partnership with churches and believers, we desire to see more people come to know Christ and experience the transforming power of His Kingdom throughout the earth.
The Settlors of Harveston
Kevin Park and Ellen Park, both born in South Korea, were married in 1994 and immigrated to New Zealand the following year. Kevin gained extensive experience in a variety of businesses centered on international trade while also studying theology in New Zealand. Ellen worked in schools and community service organizations while likewise pursuing theological studies in New Zealand.
With a desire to share and sow the grace, knowledge, and wisdom they had received from God into the lives of many others, they established the Harveston Mission Centre. Through this ministry, they pray for the Kingdom of God to flourish and expand throughout the world, and they seek ways to serve and work together with the people and organizations needed for that mission.
